On the morning of July 9, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that more than 40 doctors who are directors of public hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City had just attended a training course with the topic of updating financial management knowledge˳ for directors of public hospitals˳
This is the second special training course of the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City for directors of affiliated public hospitals, including more than 40 directors of district hospitals and directors of medical centers, and the hospital bed-free center under the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City˳
At the training course, the lecturer, who is an expert from the Ministry of Finance, presented and guided hospital directors on how to read and understand financial statements, how to identify risk signs, and new contents related to financial statements˳ Circular 23 in 2023 of the Ministry of Finance˳
In addition, the course also shared practical experience from the director of the City Children’s Hospital about the experience when building revenue and expenditure estimates associated with payments according to KPI˳
Another practical product of this training is software that alerts hospital directors about the hospital’s financial situation˳
With an easy-to-identify interface (dashboard) such as the data appearing in green is stable, yellow is a warning to remind you to review, red is an alarm that needs immediate intervention˳
Before that, the first training course took place in March 2023, with the trainees being doctors who are directors of general and specialized hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City˳
Called a “special” training course because this is the first time the Department of Health has organized a training course only for hospital directors with a very practical topic˳
This topic is inherently the “objective” weakness of most directors because they are the main responsible for hospital financial autonomy, but they have never been professionally trained in this field and have actually been trained in this field˳ There are a number of hospitals that fall into difficult circumstances˳
