General Phan Văn Giang, Minister of National Defense, along with leaders and former leaders of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu province, attended the inauguration of the Võ Thị Sáu Memorial Home and Monument Park. The event commemorates the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu province (April 27, 1975 – April 27, 2025).

The Võ Thị Sáu Memorial Home and Monument Park project, covering over 18,000 square meters, was initiated in June 2024. Long Đất District People’s Committee acted as the project’s main investor, with a total investment of 440 billion VND.

The project features comprehensive infrastructure improvements, including the renovation of surrounding sidewalks, the planting of new trees, and the installation of a drainage and lighting system. The memorial home area includes landscaped courtyards, resting areas, ceremony halls, parking, lighting, and greenery. The park itself encompasses the renovation of the ground floor meeting room to a memorial hall, a monument, paved walkways, and seating areas.

The completed project contributes to urban beautification, fostering economic, social, and commercial development, and tourism in Long Đất District. It serves as an educational site for commemorating revolutionary history and honoring the hero Võ Thị Sáu for both local residents and visitors.

Võ Thị Sáu, born in 1933 in Đất Đỏ District (now Long Đất District, Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province), joined the district police force in 1947, working as an intelligence officer to combat crime. In 1951, she was sentenced to death by the French colonial authorities and executed on Côn Đảo. On January 23, 1952, she was laid to rest in the Hàng Dương Cemetery.
