Druid Leveling Guide
The Druid is one of the best leveling classes, and it doesn’t matter if you choose the Feral or Balance tree˳ The great thing about druids is that you will be able to both do damage and heal yourself˳ I’ll give you a few tips on how to do the best Feral/Balance build to make leveling as fast as possible˳ You could use the restoration tree but this is only if you’re planning to level in instances because the truth simple, you won’t do any damage if you spec restoration and people will only want you for instances/raids˳ In short, Balance/Feral = Damage and questing/farming, Restoration = Healing and Instance leveling˳
Feral Druid
If you’re leveling as a Feral druid, you should focus on optimizing your Cat Form damage because Cat form does loads more damage than the bear form˳ Some of the talents in the Feral tree are made for tanking, so you’ll want to skip these in order to get the best damage possible˳ This build is optimized for questing and solo/2man leveling˳
As a Feral Druid that wants to level up fast you should specialize in your Cat Form ability because the damage done in Cat Form is better than the Bear Forms available˳ There are some talents that are better for Bears then for Cats so these can be skipped˳ Please note that this is a solo leveling build that focuses on maximizing the damage of your Cat Form˳
I’ll add the ones that you can skip below:
Feral Instinct: The Swipe ability is made for the Bear form so this isn’t even remotely necessary˳ The reduced chance to get seen while prowling isn’t that important because this build is for leveling, if you’re planning to do Player vs Player then this can be good˳
Thick Hide: This one is made for tanking druids and does not improve your leveling speed even the slightest˳
Brutal Impact: This one can be useful for the cat form, because it gives 1 extra second to the Pound stun so it’s not the end of the world if you decide to add this to your build˳ But because Bash is more of a tanking ability this isn’t necessary
Natural Reactions: Doesn’t really need an explanation, this is purely made for Bear tanking˳
Primal Tenacity: This isn’t needed for leveling because you won’t die in a stun during leveling, this is more of a Player vs Player talent˳
Some things in the Restoration tree should be added, these are Improved Mark of The Wild because this buff is just awesome and you should have it on your character every second you’re online˳ The Naturalists gives you increased damage by 10% so this one is perfect for leveling˳ And of course Omen of Clarity which can sometimes make your abilities free to cast, meaning it doesn’t require any mana or energy˳
Balance Druid
The Balance Druids does do a lot of damage, but the problem is that you will run out of mana which can significantly slow down your leveling speed˳
I’ll list some talents you should choose and some you shouldn’t˳
Genesis: In my opinion, this one isn’t worth it because you only have two Damage over Time (DoT) abilities˳
Brambles: Use this one, you will probably use Entangling Roots quite a lot while leveling, and the Thorns, Bark Skin and Treants boosting is great˳
Improved Faerie Fire: This one is more suitable for raids so unless you’re planning to do some instances during your leveling time, don’t use this one˳
The Feral and the Balance talents both focus on doing the most damage possible, and the answer is simple˳ You don’t need that much survivability speccing while leveling a druid, simply because you already got many great abilities to both heal yourself or flee if you’re low on mana˳
